Water Baptism

Transcribed and edited from live broadcast Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Hello, I’m Doyle Davidson, a servant and apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ ministering locally to the Body of Christ in Dallas and Fort Worth Texas, and sent by God to your house to declare unto you the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I want to welcome all of you, wherever you are at throughout the world.  Thank God!  I want to say hello to Steddie Muserera and all of his friends in Africa.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!  Praise God, Amen....

….Christianity is following Jesus and if you take up your cross daily and follow Jesus, he's going to lead you to do his works, not yours. It's fun to obey God, once you acknowledge that you’re going to have to. That's the big chore. Not wanting to follow him, but want to go call yourself a Christian when you’re nothing but a hypocrite, and I grew up with them and they had little effect on me. What do you say, tonight, we’re going to talk from the book of Romans chapter 6. Chapter 6, thank God!  Kathie D is going to start reading in verse 1.  We're going to teach this and then we’re going to worship God. Tonight I believe God wants us to talk about this one and I believe that God is speaking specifically to people that walk with me and know me and they should humble themselves and hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.  Amen?  So it’s a nice war.  So Kathie if you would start with Romans chapter 6, verse 1.

(1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

No! That's the problem with the church. Sin! Sin! The church is not convinced of their sins. I realize the importance of grace. We talked of that last night, I believe. But, just because there's grace does not give you a certificate to sin. Not at all. And that's what the apostle Paul is dealing with here, and that's what I've dealt with for years; sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin. There's a city in the United States they call “Sin City”. Well I think Plano probably ranks right up there close, if not above that city. And I think the churches of Plano rank right up with the chief sinners of America. And they are so holy and they're so righteous, but full of sin. And the sin of unbelief is top.  Next, Kathie.

(2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

That’s a good statement, you know that?  That's a good question. If you're dead to sin, how could you live in it; in sin. If you're dead. If you are dead to sin, how can you live any longer in sin. Well, the apostle Paul writing in this sixth chapter tells us why that you live in sin.  And that's the so called Body of Christ. The so called church of Jesus Christ; which packs stadiums, huge auditoriums, to hear somebody preach…..who's a sinner! And the sinners pack the places. Thank you Jesus.  Next.

(3) Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Don't you know that? Know you not? If you were baptized, baptized into Jesus Christ. This is what this chapter is about, water baptism. You were baptized into his death. Do you know that? Are you aware that if you've been baptized in water by immersion, according to the word of God found in Romans 6, then you were baptized into his death?  And if you were baptized into his death, then you cannot be living in sin; if you believe what water baptism was for. If you believe that you were baptized into the death of Jesus, when you were baptized in water. If you believe that, sin will not have dominion over you. But, if sin has dominion over you, it's because you don't believe your water baptism was worth one quarter, 25 cents, or worth nothing. And the way that you correct that, quickly, is start humbling yourself now and repenting and say, “My God, the reason I live in sin is because I don't believe my baptism in water, did me any good.” And, you don't know the reason it did not do you any good is because you don't know, you were baptized into the death of Jesus. That's the church, so called, of Jesus Christ. Pathetic, you know that! If you believe in water baptism, your rebellion will stop. If you believe your old man was crucified with Christ when you were baptized by water into his death, you wouldn't be rebellious, you wouldn't be a busybody. You wouldn't hate people. No, you wouldn't hate them. You wouldn't strive with them. But your old man is not dead, because you don't believe you were baptized into the death of Jesus. Now I'm not sure I said this at the outset, but I can tell you, God directed me to do this thing, this very night because of a bunch of rebellious people that think they are walking with Christ Jesus.  Next.

(4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:....

Therefore, we are buried with him through baptism unto death. Unto death?  Does that say that? [Kathie: Into death]  Into death.  Right.  See, your problem is you don't believe these scriptures. You don't believe what water baptism did for you. That is the problem with the church.  Next.

….. that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

If you were baptized into the death of Jesus, through water baptism, and I know not very long ago, I saw a whole bunch of you baptized in the name of Jesus by immersion and I ask you this question, “Do you believe what the word says about your water baptism; what happened to you?” If you were baptized into his death, you also should walk, what, in newness of life.  Is that what that says? [Kathie: ...so we also should walk in newness of life.]  If you were baptized into his death, in water, right up here, you wouldn't be striving.  Strife would be buried...strife would be buried.  You'd be buried, baptized into his death and your hate, hatefulness, doubt and unbelief, and rebellion, and wicked works, and wicked talk, wicked thoughts, wicked tongue, wicked ways would be dead, buried.  But you don't believe in water baptism. You don't know what it did for you. Did you know the reason I walk as I walk, and can walk the way I walk, is because the old man has been crucified, baptized into the death of Jesus. And we’ll get to that in a little bit.  And your old man is alive and well today in Collin County, Texas.  What’s next?

(5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection.  Would you go back at verse 4?

(4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death …

Notice that word buried. In case you don't know what buried means, go somewhere and get you a spade and dig some soil up, and throw a little pebble in it, and cover the darn thing up, and that pebble is buried.  Is that clear enough?  I'm not condemning you, I'm instructing you because when you ought to be teachers you need again milk, and that's what this is...milk.  Beginning principles of the doctrine of Jesus.  So busy doing your own thing, you forgot to believe what happened to you when you were baptized in water by immersion.  Verse 5 again.

(5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Notice verse 4, buried. Verse 5, planted. Planted! Buried!  Planted!  Are you going to cover it or not?  Water baptism covers you when you go under the water.  Baptized into the death of Jesus.  The death, and you're no longer alive to sin.  You don't have to try to stop sinning, you just have to believe what water baptism did for you.  People who are always trying to stop sinning, never do.  And the major sin with them is unbelief.  Unbelief!  Verse 6.

(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Read that again.

(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him….

With who?

Our old man is crucified with who?  With Jesus!  Right? When?  When you're baptized your old man was crucified with Jesus.  And that is appropriated when you're baptized in water by immersion in Jesus name.  You're baptized into his death.  The old man is baptized into the death of Jesus.  And when you're baptized into his death.  Does that not say you are crucified with him?  [Kathie: Your old man is crucified with him.]  Yes!  With him.  Your old man hung on the cross with him.  You have to believe.  Believe, my friends, is the only requirement that God has of you...except, what you believe.  Well you said, “That’s the only requirement…?”  It is.  Until the second requirement comes up.  And that is, “What do you believe?”  Mark chapter 1 verse 14 and 15 tells us Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.  The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. And the kingdom is power of God. I Corinthians 4:20. And saying, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of heaven is at hand, Repent ye and believe the gospel.”  Believe the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.  That is all that you need to believe.  And once you can believe that and walk in that, then you can start believing what took place when you were baptized in water. You see these are simple steps….nothing to them. But if you don't believe them, you won't walk anywhere with God. You might be religious, but you'll never please God with your rebellion.  Never!  Your old man was crucified with Jesus when he was put on the cross. Crucified! Crucified! Your old man. And the way that is appropriated is through water baptism. When you're baptized in water, you're baptized into the crucifixion of Jesus. And you won't be such a doubter, an unbeliever. No, you won't want to chase the world, once you believe you've been baptized into the death of Jesus you will not want to follow the world. Because the old man is dead and you walk in newness of life. You walk in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. And that resurrected person wants to follow Jesus. The reason you can't follow Jesus is because you don't believe what water baptism did for you.  It is a simple fact folks. Water baptism is necessary...necessary, to save your soul.  I didn't say be born again.  That's the new birth.  Receive Christ, that's the new birth. Thank God. Get saved, that's the new birth.  But you have not yet dealt with the old man.  Your old man is alive and well in Texas, Oklahoma, Africa, everyplace, wherever you're at because you don't believe.  You love to hear some preacher give you a pep talk and stir your flesh up and, “Ya, ya, ya, ya, hallelujah, bless God”, and walk out and say, “What happened, I don't know”.  Any of you ever been to one of those meetings?  They talk for two hours and when you walk out you say, “Well what the heck did they say?”  Well I've been there.  I've listened to all of them.  They don't say anything.  Your old man...your old man was crucified with Jesus and the way it's appropriated is through water baptism.  Baptized into his death!  You know, you can fast 365 days, if that were possible, and the old man still be alive. But you can believe that you were baptized in water, into the death of Jesus, and your old man is gone. Hallelujah!  What’s next?

(7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.

See, when you're baptized into the death of Jesus, your baptized into his death. And did you know, you're dead.  And did you know, you're free of sin.  Oh I know you mean well, but we don't care how well you mean.  What God wants is, “What do you believe?”  Repent and believe the gospel.  Then be baptized in water and believe in water baptism.  Believe what it did.  Believe that when you were baptized in water in Jesus name.  And look, if you believe in baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, I don't have any problems with that. I know that's Matthew 28.  But I know this, that you can read in the book of Acts, and the apostles baptized in Jesus name and you can't find where they baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost in the book of Acts and Luke wrote it.  And in the book of Luke, Luke says at the beginning of chapter 1 that he had perfect understanding of everything from the beginning.  And you can see what they did in the book of Acts.  It took me a long time to overcome.  Overcome religious spirits.  No, I'm not a oneness.  I'm not a oneness, so don't come to me with your oneness junk.  Did you know your oneness religion is the devil.  Did you know that?  It's nothing but the devil.  There's one Father, there’s one Son, and where does he sit?  At the right hand of the Father.  Well how in the world could there just be one, if there's one here and one at the right hand?  You don't even have to go to school to figure that one out. You just have to know where your right hand is and the word “sit”.  Isn't that right? “Sitting at the right hand.” You don't have to go to seminary. You don't have to study Greek.  You don't have to study Hebrew.  You don't even have to speak in tongues to figure this one out.  Well, you don't.  I ask you a question.  Are you seated?  Yeah?  Is there anything at your right hand?  Is there a person at your right hand...seated?  Well, God knows who is seated at his right hand, and it's Jesus!  So you oneness people, repent of your devils and I'll cast them out of you.  So there's one Father, there's one Son, and there's one Holy Ghost.  And the Father is a spirit.  And the Son is a man.  And the Holy Spirit is a spirit.  And the Father is the one that we worship in Spirit and in truth.  He's the one that gives all the directions.  And you can pray to the Father in the name of the Son, and the Father will answer you through the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit can't even say yea or nay.  “Oh, I don’t know about that now.”  Well let me help you.  You don’t know anything, that’s your problem.  Father, Son, Holy Ghost.  Father, Son, Holy Spirit.  Father, Son, Spirit of God.  Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, all the same.  Father's different and the Son's different. The Son has a body and is the express image of the Father.  All this is in the bible.  No big deal.  Your problem is you need to receive Jesus.  Mark 16 says you need to believe the gospel.  The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus; the gospel.  Then you need to be baptized in water.  And if you do that and are baptized in water, guess what?  You're saved.  “Oh, you believe you have to be baptized in water to be saved?”  I don't know what your question means, but I will tell you this, if you want to be a complete person to begin following God, you have to be born again (be saved), baptized in water, and then you can start walking and the next thing you need to do is obey the Father and get the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues.  And now you are ready for trouble.  You all don't believe that?  What’s that verse we just read, Kathie?

(7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Right.  Free of sin!  Next.

(8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

If you're dead with Christ, you're baptized into his death through water baptism, then you also must believe that you live with him…..dead….live.  Do you know what your problem is with water baptism?  “Oh, I got baptized in water, oh....”  A bunch of babblers.  People come to me and their acting stupid and I say, “Get a hold of yourself.”  If you died with him, you also live with him.  And that's where I live and that's where you shall live.  Alright!

(9) Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

That's why you don't re-baptize. Christ doesn't die once then come alive and die again. One water baptism in the name of Jesus, into his death. And all you have to do is repent of your unbelief and say, “Lord, I believe my water baptism did what it says. I was buried with Christ and I raised from the dead with Christ. I was planted with Christ, and I've been raised with him." And that's it. "And sin has no more dominion over me. I will not let my tongue get set on fire from hell every thirty seconds, or everything I see I don't like."  Next.

(10) For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

In that Jesus died, he died unto sin once; but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God, not sin, but God. Next.

(11) Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Reckon yourself to be dead, dead to sin.  Is that right?  [Kathie:  ...unto sin.]  Unto sin.  And alive unto what?  [Kathie:  Unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.]  Alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  You need to look at this.  You need to study this.   You need to meditate on it.  You need to consider with your eyes and see what it says.  You don’t have to go back thirty years to get square.  You can get square in about 10 minutes and you’ll be back where you should have been thirty years ago when you started out.  But you know what?  You forgot what happened.  You forgot what you were taught.  And you didn’t believe it.  And you got carried away with divers lust and divers spirits that led you astray and deceived you and puffed you up, and told you how great you were.  Next.

(12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Let not sin?  [Kathie:  Right.]  Is that what that says?  [Kathie:  Let not sin therefore reign..]  Reign, rule, in your mortal body...this one.  Next.

……..that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Don’t obey sin in the lust thereof.  Look, this is not hard.  I’m not beating anybody down.  I’m not putting you down.  I’m, by the Spirit of God, opening your eyes to see what your problem is.  My old man doesn’t bother me anymore.  He doesn’t.  I won’t let him.  The old man can wake up, I’ll tell you that.  If he does, say, “No,  I buried you in water, in Jesus name."  That’s it.  "Don’t be bothering me anymore.”  You know, Kathie D, lives around me and she knows I’ll say, “Satan, shut up.”  You say that to the devil?  Well, what are you going to say?  I’ll tell you this, you tell him to shut up and he’ll come back at you.  And you say it again and he’ll come back at you.  You say it in faith, and he’ll finally shut up.  But you can’t say, “Devil, shut up”, once.  You say, “Jesus never told the devil to shut up.”  He said, “Be still and come out.”  Now is that, maybe, equivalent to shut up?  Alright.  You see, people are so righteous, you don’t know how to be real.  Next.

(13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:

Don’t yield ye your members, that’s all your members (figure out what your members are), as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin.  Do you know what that word instruments means, weapon.  They become weapons, weapons of unrighteousness unto sin.  And they cause you to sin.  Next.

…..but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Yield your members unto God.  Yield your members unto God.  Let God lead you.  Let God direct your paths.  Let God speak to you.  Humble yourself before God and let God raise you up.  Oh, folks, this can be very difficult.  It’s impossible for the flesh to do this but I’m telling you, I’ve got a track record that proves I know what God is doing through me.  Thursday night...forty-four years.  That’s a long time.  No, not just sitting in church.  Forty-four years fighting the devil, fighting the good fight of faith, and not departing from the faith but doing the will of God from the heart.  Next.

(14) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Oh there’s your problem.  Sin shall not have dominion over you because you're not under the Ten Commandments, but you’re under grace.  But you know what?  If sin has dominion over you then the law is operating in you, and you need to be set free from the Ten Commandments.  You need to start over again.  But goodness sakes, it’s better to start over again when you're 10 or 50, than it is to never get started.

(15) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace?  God forbid, no, you don’t sin.  Led by the Spirit you will not sin.  Next.

(16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Read that again.

(16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey,....

Did you hear that?  Notice yield….Yield.  You have to yield to the devil or yield to the Spirit of God.

….his servants ye are to whom ye obey;....

You're a servant to whoever you obey.  Look this is not hard.  Sit and think about it.  Meditate on it and let God lead you, but get serious, get committed to God, not yourself.  Not what you think should be right, but what the word says.  Next.

…..whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Right, whether sin unto death.  You yield to sin, it’s death.  Obedience…righteousness.  Next.

(17) But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

(18) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Right.  Freed from sin, became servants of righteousness.  Next.

(19) I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

See.  Yield your members to righteousness, not sin, righteousness unto holiness.  That word holiness scares most people.  I don’t blame them.  I’ve been around that bunch and they're not very holy.  Not at all.  They just think they’re holy.  Next.

(20) For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Notice that?  Servants of sin, you’re free from righteousness.

(21) What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed?

Oh my goodness, you had no fruit.  Next.

…. for the end of those things is death.

(22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

(23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Did you get that?  The wages of sin is death.   Fruit….does that say fruit unto holiness?  [Kathie:  Yes, you have your fruit unto holiness.]  Right.  Don’t be afraid of that word, I’m not.  I’ve been around those people that think they’re so holy.  They’re not holy.  Your fruit unto holiness it's a good thing.  It’s a great thing.  I think there is a scripture that says, “Be ye holy as God is holy.”  Don’t be afraid of that.  It doesn’t scare me at all.  If you’ve been where I’ve been, and God raised me, and a bunch of people thought they were really holy…   As a young boy I could tell, those people don’t know more about God than I do.  You say, “Well that was pride.”  No that wasn’t pride.  When I was 18 years old I walked flat away from them.  I said, “I don’t think this is right.”  And you know what, I walked for years through one camp after another.  And I met more goofy doctrines than you want to talk about...goofy doctrines.  “How do you know they were goofy?”  Look, if you follow what they teach you, along with scripture and they depart from that scripture, you better stop and say, “Lord, is this bible wrong, or are these people wrong, or am I wrong....what I think they’re saying?”  It’s just written right in front of you.  Don’t be afraid.  God won’t hurt you for talking to him and saying, “I don’t know if this is right.”  Well, it’s not.  Like God told me once, “Get up and get out of here!”  I said, "Wow!”  You see, God is for you and he’ll direct your paths.  But Kathie just read, “The wages of sin is death.”  Everybody know what wages are.  Aren’t they trying to raise the minimum wage?   And the more they raise it, the more sin people commit.  Let God raise your wage.  Yeah, humble yourself and start at the bottom.  Sack groceries, carry them out.  Obey God, believe the gospel.  Watch God raise you up.  He’ll raise you up so high, you’ll make more money than you ever knew existed.  We used to have a stupid guy that attended this sanctuary.  He was stupid.  He had a college education but stupid.  Do you believe that?  And do you know what that stupid guy said?  He thought that because I had a doctorate in veterinary medicine that it helped me get closer to God.  Oh, it got me closer to god alright….the god of this world.  No, education won’t get you close to anything.  Faith.  Believing the gospel.  God will deliver you, set you free.

The Gospel in Indian Country

I was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the W.W. Hastings Indian Clinic.  I'm 1/4 Cherokee (from my dad) and 1/16 Creek (from my mom) and a member of the Cherokee Nation.  When I was 15 years old I moved to Whitefield, Oklahoma to live with my dad.  Whitefield is a small community located at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 2.  Living with my dad I attended and graduated from Stigler High School.  Stigler is the county seat of Haskell County which is located within the borders of the Choctaw Nation.

Not only did I graduate from Stigler High School, later I taught Algebra and coached football for Stigler Public Schools.  My wife, Misty, who is 29/64 Creek, 3/64 Seminole as well as a member of the Creek Nation, was also a school teacher.  She taught at Grace Russell Elememtary in Wilburton, Oklahoma and Keota Elementary in Keota, Oklahoma while we lived in Stigler, all of which are located within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation.  Both of us taught at schools with a large number of students who were Choctaw, working also along with other teachers that were Choctaw.

In 2011 Doyle Davidson and Water of Life Ministries hosted monthly meetings in Muskogee, Oklahoma, that included a free dinner along with praise and worship.  On one of those occasions I invited a group of students from Jones Academy located in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.  Jones Academy was founded by the Choctaw Nation and is home to approximately 200 Indian children grades 1-12.

In 1994, I began hearing the gospel preached out of Water of Life Ministries.  I had grown up hearing about Jesus, and knew that he died, was buried, and rose again; I did not know that that was the gospel as defined in I Corinthians 15: 3 - 4, I did not know that the gospel was the power of God, available to me on a daily basis for all I had need of. During this time I also received 239 hours of teaching tapes that came out of this same ministry. These tapes, with the gospel being ministered, were given away to me and all over the world free of charge. I began to join in, watching Water of Life Ministries on LeSea KWHB - TV47, and attended the "Gospel Crusades" when Doyle and others would travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Years later, I still continued to join in with the programs whenever they were avalable along with my wife from our home in Stigler, Oklahoma.

In May of 2014, Misty and I joined the staff here at Water of Life Ministries as ministers of the gospel. Today we share that same gospel that has been brought to us with all of our friends in the various places God has put us over the years.

Each Sunday, Doyle Davidson, Kathie Davidson, Paul Peters, Terre Brown, The Mai Girls, The Brown Brothers,  Terre and the Browns, and the Sweet 16 are ministering the power of God on DirecTV channel 367 and Dish Network 217 at noon.  The broadcast is also available over the air (antenna) on LeSea TV-47, also at noon.  You can also find us on the internet where our services are available on Live Stream (http://www.doyledavidson.com/live.shtml), and ROKU.

The gospel; the death, burial, and resurrection is being preached in Indian country.

He Rose Again - Chapter 13

HE ROSE AGAIN
by Doyle Davidson, Water of Life Ministries

CHAPTER 13

OUR GOD REIGNS

In Isaiah, chapter 52, the prophet Isaiah prophesied by the Spirit of God, about 750 years prior to Jesus’ coming, dying, being buried, and rising again. He prophesied in verse 7:

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Does your God reign? Or do you know Jesus just as Savior? Have you ever been told that Jesus reigns?

I Corinthians 15:25 and 26 say:

For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet (v.25).

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (v.26).

Have you ever read that?

Notice what I Corinthians 15:24 says: ”When he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.“ He is going to reign until all rule, authority, and power have been put down. Would you agree?

Isaiah 52:8 says, ”Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.“

Do you see the last part of this verse? ”For they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.“ If Methodists, Baptists, Pentecostals, Catholics, and all other denominations do not see eye to eye, Jesus is not your Lord, and you are not in Zion.

Do not kid yourself! If you are a denominational person, Word person, charismatic, or something else, and if you do not teach the same doctrine, then you do not see eye to eye. If you do not see eye to eye, then you cannot walk in fellowship, one with another.

I John 1:7 states: ”But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.“ See this!

”Eye to eye...“ ”Walk in the light...“ Jesus is the Light. He is the Word that was manifested in the flesh. There is no place for denominations. There is no place for divisions in the body of Christ because all should see eye to eye.

Amos 3:3 makes this statement: ”Can two walk together, except they be agreed?“ They cannot. How can you see eye to eye unless you have the same doctrine? You cannot have your Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, ”Word,“ or other doctrine, and say that you are of Christ unless your doctrine agrees with the doctrine of Christ. You are only kidding yourself. You are deceived, my friend.

In I Timothy 1:3, Paul says, “That thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,...” That verse says, “No other doctrine.”

The Bible is simple. It is written on a fifth grade level. If you can read on a fifth grade level, you can read the Bible. If you will humble yourself, God will give you understanding.

Notice the last part of Isaiah 52:8, “They shall see eye to eye”--glory be to God--“when the Lord shall bring again Zion.” Zion is surely the church.

God is going to bring the church into unity--eye to eye. Ephesians 4:3 says we should “endeavour...to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” “Keep the unity of the Spirit.” “Endeavour...to keep it.” God is going to bring us eye to eye.

Ephesians 4:13 says, “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,...” This verse tells us that we must come into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God. Then we will see eye to eye.

You are going to have to walk with me whether you like it or not, because the doctrine I preach is Jesus. His doctrine is coming forth from His throne, by His Spirit, through my heart. You will have to walk with me and see eye to eye. You cannot hide behind your denominational doctrine. You cannot hide behind falsehoods and lies and say that you love Jesus. That cannot be true.

Jesus is confronting you and challenging you this day because of your hypocritical actions:

A PROPHECY

I say to you, if you will humble yourself, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from your wicked ways, you will hear from heaven. I will forgive your sins of rebellion. I will heal your land. The Lord would say unto you, that you have sought ways that are not My ways. You have gone after ways that are not Mine. You have gone after strange gods. You have gone after gods of prosperity and gods of healing, where there are no such gods. You have not sought the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God that healeth thee, the God that giveth you wealth, the God that causes you to prosper, the God that prospereth your soul, and, accordingly, will prosper you and give you health. But you have sought strange gods and sought gods that do not exist. You have departed from the way and erred and have coveted money and filthy lucre. You have pierced asunder your own soul. You departed from the God that loves you. Humble yourself this day, and return to God, the God that loves you, your first love, the God that led you out of the wilderness, the God that revealed Himself unto you, healed you and made you prosperous, forgave your sins and led you in a right way. Then God will receive you this day, saith the Lord. He will receive you as a sheep gone astray, and bring you into that fold, and plant you. Then you will be to Him a blessing in the earth, saith the Lord.

Well, praise God! God spoke to me five years ago and said that the church of America could not discern its left hand from its right hand. That was five years ago in July, 1985. He told me at that moment in time, “I am going to judge the United States of America with your mouth.”

I could not believe that then, but I do now. I accept that. If you can accept that, praise God. If you cannot, that is fine, too. That is not a problem to me. That is between God and you.

When God brings again Zion, the church will see eye to eye. Praise God! The church will see eye to eye when it has heard the gospel and has believed it. Jesus died, was buried, and rose again the third day. This is a great time to serve God and obey Him!

He Rose Again - Chapter 1

HE ROSE AGAIN
by Doyle Davidson, Water of Life Ministries

CHAPTER 1

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

This chapter could easily be titled, “What the Gospel is Not.” Before we are through, you are going to find out that much of what you thought was “gospel” is not gospel at all. Let me begin with a statement that will challenge your religious heart and your religious mind.

The following phrases are probably written in your Bible — “The Gospel According to St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke, or St. John.” I assure you that you will find things in these four New Testament books that are not the gospel.

In reality, the opinions of some men caused these books to be labeled “the gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.” The true gospel is that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again the third day.

All of my life I have heard, “Repent, repent, repent!” Most preachers in the United States of America never told me to believe anything. They certainly never told me to believe the gospel.

A certain preacher has been running all over America for the last 40 years preaching repentance. America has not repented yet. You must be honest with yourself. If God sent this man, and America has not repented, then God does not know what He is doing.

Do Not Be Accursed

In most cases, the gospel you have heard is the one Paul warned of in Galatians 1:9:

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Most religious denominations have not heard the gospel. Further, they do not believe the gospel, nor do they preach the gospel. They preach their gospel and not the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Many people have left their religious denominations —Baptist, Methodist, or other denominations — and have become charismatic Baptists, charismatic Methodists, or charismatic this or that. There has been no repentance from dead works and no belief in the gospel.

Do you know why this has happened? We do not want to offend the Baptists, Methodists, or any other denominational church. However, denominations need to repent of their religious traditions.

I asked a well-known international Bible teacher the following question: “Do you believe there are religious demons?” He said, “Oh yes! But, I do not want to tell anyone. I do not want to offend them.”

He continued, “I will tell them privately.” I asked him, “What if you do not get to talk to them privately?”

What has happened here? The man is afraid. That is fear —not faith. Faith has no fear. If you are afraid, you have no business preaching the gospel.

You must preach the gospel in faith. As you read this book, you will discover the true gospel — that Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day!

Rent Money

I remember a time when we were in Broken Arrow, and God was trying our hearts! On a particular day God was directing me to give some money. We had the money so everything's cool, just give it, right?  The only problem was, that money was the money I had to pay the rent that was due in three days! A problem for me, but not for God.

I considered it and we (Misty & I) gave $1000. We were believing that God would give us our rent money and we only had three days. The day finally came and I needed this same money to pay the rent and had believed God had directed me to give it away, my rent money. And, by the end of the day...no rent money. So now what?  Gird up your loins and believe God, that's what.

I called my landlord to let him know I would get him his money as soon as I had it. Now we were a couple of days past due, and that meant I'd have to also pay a late fee. I want to tell you, I appreciate God. I thank him for his goodness and his mercy. If you don't know it, I'll tell you....He wants you to thank him. By Jesus, let us offer the sacrifice of praise, that is fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Yes I was late. Yes I was embarrassed to call my landlord and say I'll be late on my rent. Yes our faith was tried. But, yes! God provided that money in a couple of days. In fact, someone gave me money, who knew nothing of the matter. It was all God and I thank God for it.

God bless,
Anthony

Salvation from Day to Day

Psalm 96:1-3

1 O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord , all the earth.

2 Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

"Shew forth his salvation from day to day!" How do you shew forth his salvation?  Believe the gospel.

Romans 1:16 tells us the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. Salvation includes everything you have need of. Whether it's a job, healing, or just putting off the oppression of the devil, salvation will come through putting your trust in, believing, the gospel; the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In 2011, I was in need of a job. I had resigned from teaching high school Algebra in 2008. It was a job I loved. But in 2011 I believed God was directing me to get a drafting job.  That was a little scary to me because I had not done any drafting work since I graduated college in 1996.  My first drafting class was not even on a computer and when we did begin to learn AutoCAD, the version we used was still DOS based, not even Windows.  And these days there are many programs companies use for draft work.

God was with me.  I went to a manufacturing company that was advertising open positions and turned in my resume. They asked me to fill out an application.  I filled it out and talked with the Human Resource manager. It turned out this woman was from my hometown (Stigler) and she was related to friends of mine. God set that all up and I was asked to come in for an interview with the drafting supervisor.

I was still a little unsure about what changes in drafting had occurred since 1996. To help prepare myself, I found a company that did a 1 hour training course on the lasted AutoCAD software.  I learned nothing.  I didn't even get to work with the software.

I went to the interview and talked about my experience (or lack thereof) with drafting and using the latest software.  The supervisor responded back, "That's OK. We only have AutoCAD R14 here."  Thank God!  The version I used was R12.  To put this in perspective, the current AutoCAD release is R30.  They weren't even using the latest and greatest. They were using a version close to what I had been taught.

When I left that company in 2014 they were just beginning to implement changes that included upgrading to the latest version of AutoCAD. Isn't it marvellous that God knew where to send me to get that job in 2011 that was using software that I learned in 1996.

I was called back and interviewed with the Vice-President of Engineering and he offered me a job.  That was salvation that day!

Trust this gospel. It is the power of God for your salvation from day to day!

God bless,
Anthony

Good Enough for Who It's For?

Growing up I would hear the phrase "Good enough for who it's for".  That may have been said jokingly, but in Colossians 3:23  it says, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;" and in Ephesians, "With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men":

Before coming to Water of Life Church in Plano, Texas; I worked as a draftsman at a manufacturing company in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  We were a full operation from sales, to engineering, to manufacturing, to shipping out the door.  The products designed at Gunnebo Johnson are sold and known worldwide. In fact, if you've ever been through a construction site, then you've probably seen some of what we did.

My responsibilities included much more than drafting though.  Whenever we were given a project, we outlined the details of the design on a DDI.  These were the Design and Development Inputs.  Often my supervisor would remind us to "tell the story".  The DDI captured everything that the customer listed on the purchase order.  It also told of decisions that were made on the project and who was responsible for making those decisions.

One item that would always be listed was paint.  If the customer listed yellow.  We needed to know which yellow.  What's the color number?  Which vendor do you want the paint to come from?  Do you want standard paint or a marine coat?  How many coats?  How thick for each coat?  Some customers would send a packet that detailed how to paint the product they were ordering.  Sometimes this meant that the paint process had to be recorded and sent back to the customer.  We, as draftsmen, had to lay all this out in the form of a "specification" or a SPEC to let the guys in the plant know what was being required.

That was just one example.  The point is we had to be very detailed.  Once we were finished, the person checking our work had to be thorough as well.  After that check, the the supervisor then reviewed our work before sending it on to the Vice-President of Engineering for final review.  If at any point along the way a mistake was made, the project was sent back to the draftsman to make corrections.  On occasion a project was sent back simply to be more detailed in the "telling of the story".  We were always making an attempt to get exactly what the customer wanted.  That was our job.  Get it exactly right.

Working on those projects I was often reminded of how God told Moses, referring to the tabernacle,  to build it exactly like he showed him.  (Hebrews 8:5)  I thank God for the job he provided me during the years I worked at GJC.  I also thank God for those I worked with.

God Bless,
Anthony

Big Ol' Mean Dog

Today I was reminded of a testimony of an encounter with a dog when I was in either 1st or 2nd grade.  We lived in a trailer park in Muskogee, Oklahoma where a neighbor had a dog that was kept in a pen. To this kid, that was a big, mean dog.  I remember that dog being let out one day and it started  after me.  I ran being afraid the dog would get me.  I was trying to run inside our home, which being in a trailer house, meant I would have to run up the steps.  As the dog closed in I turned and said, "I rebuke you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ my Savior".  That dog stopped and I got up the stairs and got inside.  You can read in scripture where and angel stood in front of a donkey and that donkey would go no further.  This dog could not go anything further either.

When I was in sixth grade, my mom and the man she was married to at the time, were in an argument late at night.  Knowing I had school the next day, I was trying to go to sleep but couldn't because of the arguing.  I played baseball in those days so I had a bat in my room.  I got up, grabbed the bat, and headed to the living room.  When I got there I said, "If you don't shut up and go sleep, I'm going to hit you up side the head with this bat."  You may think no man was going to listen to a kid, but God would not let that go any further.  That was the end of the arguing.  Everybody went to bed.  Not too much later, that man raised his hand to hit me and my mom stepped in.  Soon after that, they were no longer together.

Psalm 44:6-8

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

Although God was with me in both of those situations, I did not know that we are to trust in the gospel for everything we have need of.  Verse 6 above says, "For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me."  Jesus tells us in Mark chapter 1 what we are to trust in when he came in to Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.  He says, "Repent  ye, and believe the gospel."  In other words, change from what you are trusting in and trust the gospel for what you have need of.  The gospel of the kingdom of God is power and is defined in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 as "How that Christ died for our sins according to the scripture, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the scripture."  Everything you have need of was provided right there in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  That's what we are to trust in.  That's what will bring salvation.  And salvation can be as simple as not getting bitten by a big ol' mean dog.

Beginning Days

Sometime back I shared about how I grew up. This is not a sad story, but we moved often, about every two years; and, not to go into too much detail, but there was a period of time when we were on food stamps and for a brief time, we lived in our car. As I have said before, I thank God how I grew up.

I was determined though, that when I got older, I would not live that way. I didn’t have a plan, that was just my heart.

I do remember thinking that I could build houses for people so people could have a house. In 1994, I heard the gospel defined out of I Corinthians 15:3-4; How that Christ died for my sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. And that the gospel was the power of God unto salvation; salvation being everything you have need of, which includes a house.

I began to do the things I had been taught. One of those things was read the Psalms. I got to where I could read the Psalms through, out loud, in one setting. I began reading the New Testament as well. By 1997 God provided me a house in Stigler, Oklahoma. It was just over 1300 Sq.Ft. It had three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, kitchen, dining, living room, and a one car garage. It sat on a large corner lot with multiple trees. It was a new home, a self-help house, in which I contributed to some of the work. I wasn’t going to have to live the way I grew up.

As I continued believing the gospel, and listening to what I was being taught and what I was reading, I came to a point early on where my heart was broken to think, that after coming from nothing, to going to something, I may have to go to nothing again. I read where the disciples forsook all and followed Jesus.  Was I going to have to give up this house, and later my job, and trust God? God was gracious, and we lived in that home until August 2008, when I resigned my position from Stigler Public Schools, from teaching, and from coaching; to do, what I believed was God.

We actually began our move to Broken Arrow not knowing where we would live. We went "Looking for a City" when we moved to Allen too!  A testimony for a later date.

God provided us a nice rent house. Although we started out sleeping on a mattress on the floor, God, one day, provided us bedroom furniture, and then later, some living room furniture. But this was where, I began to learn to walk by faith, trusting God, for all I needed.

This is not to say I've arrived by any means but I thank God for this gospel. We now live in Allen, Texas working in the ministry at Water of Life in Plano, Texas.

God Bless,
Anthony

Garbage Man

 Matthew 15:21-28

21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word.

In verse 22 the woman cried unto Jesus.  But look in verse 23.  He answered her not a word.  He didn't even respond to her crying of "Have mercy on me."  Jesus only did the will of the Father and here he doesn't even respond to this woman looking for her daughter to be delivered from a devil.  Continue on with the rest of verse 23.

And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

Not only did Jesus not answer her, the disciples started telling Jesus to send her away.  Who's this woman?  She's not even from Israel.  Come on Jesus send her away.  Now look what Jesus says next.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

She went crying after Jesus looking for help.  The disciples even wanted Jesus to send her away and now Jesus tells her plainly, he is not sent but to Israel.  This woman was not of Israel.  Mark's account says she was Syrophenician.  Was Jesus racial profiling?  Remember, he only did the will of the Father.  Look how the woman reacted to that.  She worshipped him with these three words, "Lord, help me."

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Surley that will get his attention.  Look at verse 26.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

First he didn't even answer her.  Then his disciples wanted her sent away.  Then he let her know she was not the right nationality.  Now he calls her a dog.  Ever feel like this woman?

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

She didn't quit.  She didn't give up.  Faith pleases God and Jesus does the will of the Father.  She got what she came for.  Her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

In high school I played sports.  I had some success in football but I also played basketball.  Recently I was reminded of something my basketball coach said to me.  He said, "You're a garbage man."  He called me a garbage man.  What did that mean?  It meant there weren't going to be any plays specifically ran for me.  I still scored at times. My job was to get rebounds.  So any scoring I did would be off rebounds or free throws.  That was my job.  Come off the bench and get rebounds and play defense - a garbage man.  But at the end of the day I was on a pretty good team.  My senior year we only lost one game during the regular season.  Won tournaments.  District champs.  Regional champs.  We finished the year one game short of going to the State tournament with a record of 24-3.

If your after something from the Lord keep after it.  Believe the gospel; the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Even if he calls you a dog, or a garbage man, don't quit.  The gopsel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.

God Bless,
Anthony
